Job Title
Trainee Chartered Accountant

The role
We are offering a trainee Chartered Accountant (ACA) position at our South of England office in Faversham. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated and committed final year students to join our graduate programme.

The ACA qualification is one of the most advanced learning and professional development programmes available. We provide our trainees with a generous level of study support which includes exposure to all areas of business.

Qualifications
Studying for the ACA qualification requires a level of academic competence. We look for candidates that have achieved or expect to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree.

Work environment and conditions
Chavereys principal office is in Faversham, Kent and the candidate should be willing and able to travel to clients in-person where preferable. There is capacity for flexible working.

Chavereys has continued to support its clients across the UK by providing timely, expert advice and practical direction during this pandemic. We now need to recruit an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to complement our existing tax team.

We need a Private Client Tax Manager with an awareness of tax issues affecting HNWI, including those involved in family companies; trusts and estates; trading, investment and mixed partnerships.

This role will comprise both compliance and advisory.

We seek a proactive ACA/CTA (or equivalent) with the ability for identifying both problems and opportunities. Strong technical knowledge, with experience of a variety of business structures.

Salary Range
£35,000 - £45,000

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced management accountant to become part of our growing outsourcing team. We are looking for someone who is forward thinking, adaptive and willing to implement change.

Responsibilities:
• Preparation and review of Management Accounts, including budget vs actuals and forecasting
• Review work of the junior team.
• Development and training of the junior team
• Payroll reviews.
• Maintain and update clients' accounting records.
• Accurately prepare and review VAT Returns.
• Assisting clients with improving their internal processes and procedures.
• Interim financial controller support to our clients as required.

The successful applicants will need:
• Sound experience of bookkeeping and preparation of VAT Returns.
• A good knowledge of VAT would be advantageous.
• Good effective communication skills.
• Ability to prepare management accounts, including key performance indicators, cash flows, budget vs actuals, for example.
• Good payroll experience and knowledge.
• Exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• To be confident meeting and working closely with clients.
• Experience of Xero, Sage and Key accounts would be ideal.

This is a very varied role and would suit someone who is AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with previous experience gained in practice – someone who is looking for a bit more variety and a challenge working with different clients. An interest in farming, land and estates and renewables would also be desirable.

From £50k (depending on experience)

We need a Corporate Tax Manager with an awareness of tax issues affecting HNWI. This role will comprise both compliance and advisory with a bias towards medium to large family owned companies.

We seek a proactive ACA/CTA with the ability for identifying both problems and opportunities. Strong technical knowledge, with experience of a variety of sectors, including renewables, food production, rural estates and leisure.

We partner with our clients, think creatively and deliver a style of expert advice that is rarely available in our chosen sectors.
