Karen Blackiston


Karen has a varied portfolio of clients and advises on all aspects of their affairs, from overseeing the annual accounts and taxation compliance to the provision of more complex Inheritance Tax and VAT advice.

Karen’s particular specialism is the administration and taxation of trusts and estates and, having been authorised by the ICAEW to conduct non-contentious probate work, she controls Chavereys’ provision of probate and deceased estate administration services.

Karen has a 2:1 honours degree in Biochemistry with Management from Imperial College, London and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, having been a prize winner in the paper on Taxation of Trusts and Estates. Karen joined Chavereys as a graduate in May 2003 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006. Karen became a partner in May 2015.

When Karen is not at Chavereys she enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughters.
